Another Year Of Fabulous
What does “Another Year of Fabulous” entail? Hmmm where do I begin?
Oh yes! Well for starters… I know I’ve been gone for a while now but I’m SO HAPPY to be BACK and I’m ready to start the new year off with a BANG! Let me give you the Cliff’s Notes version on what I’ve been up to but before I do… I’d LOVE to hear from you as well so PLEASE be sure to reach out to me, comment on this blog or send me a PM on Facebook so we can catch up!
Ok here we go…
January, February & March were NOT my best months, in fact I was pretty unhappy and looking for something but I wasn’t sure what. I only knew I wasn’t experiencing the time and financial freedom that I had worked so hard for and wasn’t seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. In truth, I felt like I was being dragged back into the darkness kicking and screaming. Then I read a book in March that a friend was raving about and it was like I had an awakening. I started writing down exactly what I wanted my life to look like and I started dreaming again and KNEW what I WANTED was entirely POSSIBLE. I just had to be OPEN to what I wanted and it started appearing in my life! Sounds all woo wooish I know, but that’s how it happened!
In April I closed the door on one business (Beachbody Coaching and Personal Training) and opened another (as an IBO for Genesis Pure). I’ve never been happier since I get to help more people improve their health with whole food nutrition (my mission in life) while enjoying the benefits of true time freedom that comes from a business that’s easy to duplicate. This move was bittersweet as I had had met so many amazing people and learned so much in my 5 years as a Coach but I’d outgrown that opportunity and felt the only way to continue to improve was to move on to something better. Genesis Pure was an answered prayer and an opportunity that I’m so thankful I didn’t close the door on.
I spent April and May running in my new business and building an awesome team to run with me which has built a nice residual income that has sustained me while I took time off to help my husband in his business over the summer.
My husband turned 50 in July. (I never DREAMED I’d be married to a 50 year old one day but here I am!) LOL! I’m so happy we are growing old together. I really do love him more ALMOST everyday. 😉 Isn’t he handsome?!
We became GRANDPARENTS for the first time in September and I was blessed to be there for the birth. (You can call me Nana now!) 🙂 Words can’t express how beautiful this experience was and is for me. I honestly didn’t know I could love another child so much that it literally tears me up every time I think about him! 🙂 EVEN NOW!
My hubby and I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary in October and made one of our dreams come true by purchasing a beautiful piece of property to build a dream house on in the mountains of North Carolina.
November 17th was my 45th birthday and I celebrated it like no other with a Cake Smash Photo Shoot taken by my beautiful niece, Tais Suttles. We included 2 of my favorite things in life, cake and beer and had so much doing it. 🙂 Since my birthday is near the end of the year it just seemed like a fun way to round out the year and end it with a bang.
The past 2 years have been full of changes for me and I think I carried a lot of my pain and struggles from 2015 into 2016 with me. In January I started defining and writing down what I desired in my life and by April I knew it was time to cut some old ties and allow myself the true freedom that I have been longing for for so many years.
2016 may go down in history as the worst year ever for a lot of people (according to the Facebook posts and memes I’ve been seeing) but not for this chick. For me, 2016 has truly been another year of FABULOUS and I’m taking credit for making it so. It’s been a year full of wonderful changes (including my hair color) and personal growth. It’s been a year of letting go of things and relationships that no longer serve me and filling those spaces in my life with what matters most… time spent building relationships with family and friends and helping others and living life by MY design, not anyone else’s. I drank my beer and ate my cake and I packed on a few extra pounds in my months of contentment and I don’t feel a bit guilty about it. 🙂
Tomorrow is December 31st, the last day of an EPIC YEAR that truly made HISTORY with one hell of an election and Donald Trump shocking the nation by actually becoming the President-elect. No matter if you were happy with the results of that election or not…LET’S hope and pray the next 4 years bring forth some POSITIVE changes for this country, but remember that no matter who is in office YOU and I have the POWER to make a POSITIVE IMPACT on the world around US!
Being born in 1971, (a child of the 70’s and a teen of the 80’s) I was sad to lose some of my favorite musicians, actors and writers and other famous people I’m sure you’ll recognize including Prince, David Bowie, Glenn Frey, Merle Haggard, Nancy Reagan (my favorite First Lady), Harper Lee (the author of To Kill A Mockingbird), Garry Shandling, Muhammad Ali, Gene Wilder, Florence Henderson (Mrs Brady!), George Michael, Carrie Fisher and her mom, Debbie Reynolds just a day later.
Just think about the LEGACIES all those people left behind with the impressions and impact they all left on this world with their accomplishments.
And while the news of 2016 may have left you with the feeling of gloom and doom, just remember that the Chicago Cubs won their first Wold Series in 108 years this year!!! ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN folks and I BELIEVE 2017 is gonna be AMAZING!!!
That’s a wrap my friends! I hope you all have a safe, happy, blessed and prosperous 2017. Be sure to take a few minutes to DREAM BIG and WRITE DOWN on PAPER what you want your life to look like in the year ahead. Visualize it everyday and do whatever it takes to make it happen.
