Confessions of a

Coffee Creamer Addict

coffee creamer Coach Lynda

***** WARNING ******

My name is Lynda Suttles and  I’m a coffee creamer addict. :/

If you’re like me, a self proclaimed coffee creamer addict, you’ll likely want to RUN from this post but I want to encourage you to read it anyways. You know, because misery loves company. 😛 This is my confession that just might help give you or someone you know realize that they have a problem too. ☕️

I may be a Coach but I’m not perfect and strive to always be REAL with you. I like to say I’m failing my way to a healthier me everyday and I’m sharing what I learn to help you along the way. You may not like what you hear and trust me, sometimes, like today’s dose of reality just SUCKS and I don’t like it either, but here it is.
*
My battle against the bulge has not been an easy fight. I am about as stubborn as a bull when it comes to some things, especially if it’s my husband telling me I need to do something. Grrrrrr I hate it even more when he’s right.
*
My personal results have come to a stand still and I’ve actually been putting weight back on even though I’ve been more active than usual which thoroughly pisses me off of course.
*
Over the last 4 years of my fitness journey I’ve eliminated so many bad things from my diet that I kind of figured I’m entitled to a couple of guilty pleasures. Coffee creamer being one of them. International Delight French Vanilla or Bailey’s French Vanilla coffee creamers have become my daily drugs of choice in my coffee, in sometimes 3-4 cups a day.  Sounds like anyone you know?????
*
I often wonder if I’m addicted to coffee as much as I’m addicted to my coffee creamer. I don’t have to wonder, i KNOW the truth. I am a coffee creamer addict. My coffee SUCKS ASS without it. There, I said it, out loud and in print. UGH. Anyways, my husband has been telling me for a while now that my coffee habit is what’s killing my results and I’ve been like a stubborn teenager, sticking my fingers in my ears, telling him that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about and blah blah blah.

*
Well I decided to go back to tracking my calories AND measuring my foods in my 21 Day Fix containers yesterday (because that’s how I always get the best results) and when I entered my coffee creamer into MyFitnessPal I had to stop and think about how much creamer I was adding. 1 tbsp = 30 calories, however I wasn’t measuring my creamer at all, in fact, I was pouring it quite generously into my coffee cup before I start the Keurig to make my coffee. So I measured what I normally just eyeball and I was SHOCKED at what my number of calories added up to.
*
Get ready! I was dumping AT LEAST 4 tbsp (1/4 c) into my coffee 3-4 times a day… That’s 120 calories at least 3 times a day!!! That’s 360 or more EMPTY calories that have been packing onto my hips and thighs and worst of all… My husband was RIGHT. 🙁
*
If the old saying is true that 3500 calories adds up to 1 pound then it’s no wonder my 360 calorie a day indulgence has been literally KILLING my results since I started this habit over the last couple of years. That can add up to 37.5 lbs over the course of a year…. And as I’ve said before, you CAN’T out train a bad diet and I’m living proof.
*
So today I measured my creamer. 1 Tbsp = 30 calories and my coffee wasn’t near as yummy. I may just quit my coffee habit altogether now.  I’m going to order the new Focused Energy to add to my Shakeology as a replacement. I’ve been hearing amazing things about it, so I’ll let us know later when I see for myself.
*
I hope this helps someone out there that was in denial like me and can’t figure out where this extra weight was coming from even though they are working out harder than ever.
*
We live and learn, right!?!?
