Goal Digger Day

GOAL DIGGER DAY

I’m not sure who said it first but I’ve heard it said many times over the years, “If you want to accomplish anything in life, you have got to write it down and create a plan of action to make it happen.” In other words, if you really want something, put it in writing!

Have you ever noticed that the most successful people always seem to be organized and stick to a schedule? Most of them use planners or calendars of one kind or another to keep them on task.  Many people love to use the calendar features on their smart devices but I personally like to have one that I can write in. There is just something wonderful and maybe a little magical about putting things in writing that I believe it helps me bring my dreams into reality. 🙂

Today is January 1st and tomorrow begins the first week of the new year. It’s never to late to start but there is no time better than NOW to think about what we want more of in life and create a plan of action to make it happen.

I like to call this GOAL DIGGER DAY!

Journals are great for this sort of thing but I think a planner helps keep us on track a little better.

I’ve used both journals and planners and I’ve gone years without using either and I can promise you that I’ve accomplished much more in a year using a planner than 5 years without one.

The past 6 years I’ve tried several different planners. Last year I even tried getting creative and making my own (Insert epic fail here) but I think I found one this year that I am going to love more than any one I’ve used so far. It’s called Create 365 Happy Planner by Me and My Big Ideas. You can purchase directly from their website but I have also seen these planners at Michael’s and Hobby Lobby, however Amazon is always more convenient and usually cheaper unless you find a great coupon to use. 🙂

I love that they are colorful and loaded with inspiration and have plenty of room for me to keep my daily schedule as well as write down my weekly and monthly goals. It’s not too big and bulky so it’s easy to carry with me daily, measuring only  7.75″ X 9.75″.

Another thing I LOVE about this planner is the additional packs you can get to customize it to your liking. For me, this Fitness Planner Extension was a HUGE plus!

If you REALLY want to go crazy with your planner and have some extra fun you can invest in this Create 365 2017 Seasonal Planner Box Kit that includes the Classic Happy Planner (7″ x 9.25″) + 4 sheets of stickers, magnetic bookmark and sticky notes!

I’m including a video for you to check it out here.

As you are thinking about the goals you want to accomplish in 2017, be sure to make sure they are “SMART” Goals using this acronym.

Specific

  • Well defined
  • Clear to anyone that has a basic knowledge of the project

Measurable

  • Know if the goal is obtainable and how far away completion is
  • Find out when you have achieved your goal

Attainable

  • attainable, achievable, acceptable, action-oriented

Realistic

  • Within the availability of resources, knowledge and time

Time-Based

  • Enough time to achieve the goal
  • Not too much time, which can affect project performance

As always,  I hope this blog post inspires you to dream big and pursue a life by design in the year ahead.  If you enjoyed this blog post please feel free to share it.

Have you already purchased a planner you love for 2017? If so, tell me about it in the comments below! I love hearing from you.

Have a blessed, happy, healthy & prosperous new year! Happy Goal Digging Day!!!
